Mommy Dearest

The apple does not fall far from the tree with my Mom and me.  Her affinity for shoes was passed on to me at a young age and luckily we still wear the same size today.  It’s great to have someone so stylish that I know I can go “closet raid” at any time.  Since my mom is such a wonderful and stylish woman, she deserves only the best for Mother’s Day.  If I only had an unlimited budget, I would love to get her all of these things…
Gifts for Mom, with love…

Tracy Reese Picnic Basket – She recently mentioned she was looking for a chic picnic basket for beach vacations.  This one certainly fits the bill.

Kate Spade Girl About Town Scarf – Like me, my Mom has a big scarf bin and wears them with everything.

Dior Eye Shadow Set – To bring out her brown eyes.

Vera Bradley Apron – So she can always bake in style.

Callisto Wedge Sandal – So I can borrow them from her.  J

No Neutrals Allowed

Since bright neons and color-blocking are the trends of spring, why not have the confidence to wear your brights together?  With such vibrant colors, the combinations may seem “shocking” but they really work wonderfully in one styled look.  Pair vivacious colors together – Pinks with oranges, yellows with greens or even reds with pinks.  Neutral shoes or accessories can almost seem out of place here.  So, put it all out there and show your true colors!

Quiet vs Bold

It’s funny how my two new favorite nail polish shades are the complete opposite of each other.  I fell in love with this subtle and springy green-ish hue from OPI.  It’s light and fresh for May.  Then, I found this dramatic maroon and red-ish shade from the fabulous Deborah Lippmann line-up.  It adds just the right amount of bold color to any outfit.

Bits and Pieces

Life lately has been chock-full of travel, which means lots of packing, unpacking and time spent in my closet.  When planning outfits for trips, it often forces me to go through pieces I sometimes forget about.  So, I picked out a few favorites from my closet and thought about the story behind them…

Bits and pieces from my closet…

Sequin Skirt

This little gem was a gift and completely fits my girly personality.  Although I’ve only worn it a few times, it makes me smile each time I open my closet.

Mini Perfumes

I got an adorable mini perfume set about 3 years ago and these two little bottles are all that’s left.  They are just so cute!

Kate Spade Earrings

I bought these for myself…  Kate Spade Earrings.  Enough said.

Scarf bin

My scarf bin is an overflowing tangle of colors.  A great scarf is such an easy way to add a pop of color, so I have plenty to choose from.

Shoedazzled Heels

These were my little Pinterest inspired project.  I admit I have not worn them yet…  But aren’t they cute?!

Dressing Royally

As Prince William and Kate celebrated their one-year anniversary yesterday, I reminisced about the elaborate nuptials of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, in a wedding watched by millions around the world.  Although I was sadly not invited to their wedding anniversary celebration (how rude), I did stumble upon an amazing British fascinator hat while I was in Vegas.  So, of course I had to purchase this unique gem, just in case I am invited to a Royal Event in the near future.  J

Even though I can’t pull off a hat quite like Kate can, I enjoyed imagining what I would wear to a Royal party…

And one of my own…  J
